The Skiddaw Hotel, part of the Lake District Hotels group, was awash with festive cheer during a fundraising bingo night.

The event was held on December 4, raising £441 for Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice.

The charity provides invaluable end-of-life care for terminally ill children and gives crucial support to their families.

Since late 2022, Lake District Hotels has been a staunch supporter of the Jigsaw charity, making it their charity of the year.

Dani Hope, Director of Lake District Hotels, said: "Christmas is a time for giving and spreading joy, which is why we hosted this event—not only to support our fantastic charity of the year, Jigsaw, but also to provide our guests with the opportunity to have some fun and embrace the festive spirit!"

The event was graced by 67 guests who participated in three rounds of bingo and enjoyed a meal of pie, mash and gravy.

It also served as an opportunity to win festive goodies including gin crackers from the Lakes Distillery, fine wines from Grapevine, and a turkey weighing in at more than 6kg, donated by Caterite.

Keswick resident Brian Watterson was the lucky winner of the jackpot turkey.

Father Christmas himself made an appearance, taking up a role as the bingo caller.

Neels Ferreira, General Manager of the Skiddaw Hotel, said: "The Skiddaw Hotel extends heartfelt gratitude to all participants, donors and supporters who made this event an outstanding success."

Lake District Hotels' support for Jigsaw will continue with a Christmas Dog Walk at the Kings Arms Hotel in Keswick on December 15.
