Cumbria Police have issued a number of public appeals this week across North and West Cumbria. 

Maryport: 

Police are investigating an arson that took place on Saturday, December 2 on McCarron Close in Maryport.

Between the hours of 5pm and 6pm the front passenger window of a blue Jaguar car was smashed before being set alight.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed this incident.

Gilgarran: 

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a farm in Gilgarran between 7pm on 13 November and 7am on 14 November 2023.

Items have been taken including a quad Bike, Endure bike, Clay pigeon traps and farming equipment which had a combined value of approx. £15,000.

We are looking for any witnesses to anything suspicious in the area of Gilgarran between the provided times or anybody who has any information about the incident, or the items taken.

CARLISLE: 

Officers are appealing for the public’s help in identifying two men as part of an investigation into a report of shoplifting that occurred in Morrisons, Kingstown Road, Carlisle.

Police are releasing an image of a man they are looking to identify as part of an investigation into an assault that occurred on Botchergate on November 5 at around 1am.

Police are investigating the theft of a Citroen Berlingo van from Kirkby Street in Maryport.

It happened between 6pm on December 1 and 10am on December 2.

The registration of the van is NA63 UKM.

Officers are asking for anyone in this area to check their CCTV or doorbell footage for anything that might be relevant.
