ONE male has been arrested under the Road Traffic Act for over-prescribed limit drugs following concerns over driving standards in the city.

This targeted action comes in response to citizen concerns over driving standards in the city, voiced in the latest 'City East PACT survey'.

Another man was reported to authorities for possession of class B drugs.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "You said you had concerns over driving standards in the City in the most recent City East PACT survey.

"PC 2810 and PC 2869 have been out this afternoon targeting those using our roads whilst under the influence and involved in criminality.

"One male arrested section 5a road traffic act OPL drugs and 3 people off for a soggy walk home.

"A further male reported for possession of class B drugs.

"Further evidence that your reports to us via PACT surveys and reports at Police desks guide our work throughout the year," they said.
