An entertainment venue in Cockermouth is set to host a festive event on December 16, with ticket sales supporting a local food bank.
The popular seven-piece band Soul Junction will provide the evening's entertainment at The Kirkgate Centre, resonating the premises with the best of soul and Motown.
Every ticket sold will contribute £2 to the North Lakes Foodbank, as has been the case for the past three years.
Kirkgate operations manager Katie Gentry said: "A couple of years back, we decided we needed an event with a party feel to get us in the mood for Christmas.
“It's become a bit of a tradition, and this year we've invited Soul Junction along to get everyone on their feet and have a dance as well as raise money for the North Lakes Foodbank.
"That means that £2 from every ticket sold will go directly towards helping a local family in need of support.
"What better way to celebrate the festive season?"
The North Lakes Foodbank runs six centres across the former localities of Allerdale and Copeland, including one in Cockermouth.
It helps support local communities by providing food parcels and access to support services.
North Lakes Foodbank manager, Fiona Kerr, said: "We are very grateful that the Kirkgate Centre are once again supporting us with the ticket contribution scheme.
"Donations received will go towards supporting people in crisis in communities across West Cumbria."
Soul Junction, based in Penrith perform extensively across the North of England and Scotland and are renowned favourites at many festivals.
Tickets for the event can be bought for £12 at the Kirkgate's website.
To learn of other upcoming events and film screenings at the Kirkgate, a detailed list is available at Events Archive - Kirkgate Arts and Heritage.
North Lakes Foodbank also has centres in Maryport, Wigton, Workington, Whitehaven, and Egremont.
Assistance from the foodbank requires a referral voucher.
