NEWSQUEST Cumbria will kick off their buzzing 2024 networking calendar with a joint 'table talk' event in association with HR consultancy Realise HR to help individuals in the business world promote themselves on social media effectively.

Realise HR and in-Cumbria will present Table Talk: Credibility - The Ultimate Competitive Advantage in Social Media at the North Lakes Hotel & Spa on Friday, January 12.

The event will be a chance for business people right across Cumbria to attend and listen to an expert panel discuss the best ways to effectively promote yourself as a business leader online.

Discussions will be held around how to be consistent, with the right messaging and without impacting the quality of your content, how to become trusted in a bustling social media environment alongside a whole host of other topics.

The event will feature a number of high profile figures from across the business world in Cumbria, including: Sarah Corlett, Corporate Communication Office at Sellafield Ltd; Martin Norris, Head of Recruitment at Realise HR; Jayne Moorby, Head of Marketing at Oxley Developments and Carol O'Donoghue, Marketing Director at Cartmell Shepherd.

Martin Norris, Head of Recruitment, at Realise HR said: "For many of us, social media plays a significant part in both our professional and personal lives.

"It's a powerful platform that allows for community building with a diverse range of voice and perspectives.

"In a such highly connected and noisy social environment, it's important that we're seen as credible and that the content we post is trustworthy and high value. Our next Table Talk discusses how we achieve this credibility and what this looks like for different businesses and professional figures."

Emily Wood, Sales Director, at Newsquest Cumbria said: "We're delighted to be collaborating with Realise HR and North Lakes Hotel for our second Table Talk event; this one really digging in to how to strike the correct note in the social media space as a business person.

"Our brilliant panellists will share their top tips on what works for them; and how they tread the fine line between sharing personal and business related content. We look forward to welcoming anyone who like to come along, network and take some learning from our guests."
