IN this week's edition of nostalgia, we are looking back at Christmas parties in Cumbria throughout the years.
These events can include a variety of activities for both children and adults, including theatrical performances, carol singing, and craft making.
The pictures show a mix of children and adults parties, the children parties often include a visit from Father Christmas, and the adult ones usually include a Christmas dinner and some drinks!
One of the pictures dates back to 1973 which shows the Children's Christmas Party held at Newspaper House, Carlisle. The Cumberland News party shows the children gathering in the canteen for a picture.
Another photo from 1975, shows the Workington Salvation Army over 60's Christmas party. Whilst another shows Santa as he finds out what the children want for Christmas at Broughton Moor Tufty Club children's party in 1979.
The Harrington Infant School Party in 1968 shows children sharing a joke with Father Christmas, who was the most important visitor at Harrington Infants' School Christmas party, he came bearing gifts for all the children who attended.
The County Garage party at the Cosmo in Carlisle is pictures, as well as the Electroflo, Maryport party.
One photo shows children pulling a cracker at the Carlisle Fire Station party and the Houghton playgroup is pictured being entertained by a puppeteer in 1973.
