Popular band The Lancashire Hotpots inspired a big donation to Carlisle Foodbank following their gig in the border city earlier this month.
The comedy folk band, perhaps most famous for their classic song 'Egg, Sausage, Chips and Beans', played to a sold-out crowd at the Old Fire Station on Saturday, December 16.
Tinned foods such as beans are great to help local families in need this Christmas, and the band asked those attending to bring as many of the ingredients mentioned in their 2018 song as possible to the gig last Saturday night.
The paying customers did not disappoint and a trolley worth of food was dropped off at the foodbank on Tuesday morning.
Carlisle Foodbank are also appealing for items such as tinned meat, tinned vegetables and milk.
On Facebook, the Old Fire Station wrote: "Thank you to the band and to all our amazing customers for your support - You are the best and we love you all."
