CHILDREN at a Carlisle primary school have been spreading Christmas cheer to one and all as part of their activities over the festive period.
KS2 choir from Upperby Primary School treated residents of The Laurels care home to a performance of carols and festive favourites this week, spreading Christmas cheer across the community.
The residents and carers gathered in the care home's lounge for a memorable performance of classics including ‘Silent Night’, ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Somewhere in my Memory.’
The children sung ‘beautifully’ and residents loved joining in according to headteacher, Mrs Paula Burns.

Children from the after-school club have also been spreading Christmas cheer in the community, making 250 Christmas cards which have been distributed to 10 care homes in Carlisle.
The school have received four letters of thanks, outlining how the cards had been well received and visited was invited to The Laurels to hand deliver cards.
“The residents were so appreciative, and the visits showed our children the positive difference they can make to other people's lives,” said Mrs Burns.
