A Cumbrian MP has announced the winner of his Christmas card competition.
Mark Jenkinson, the MP for Workington, ran the competition with the help of a judging panel.
The panel received hundreds of cards, and each winner was met with the MP to present to them their awards.
He said the winning designs will feature on his Christmas card which will be delivered in the coming days.
Mr Jenkinson said: “The quality of the work was exceptional – and certainly helped me get into the Christmas spirit.
“The judging panel had their work cut out whittling it down to four from over 400 entries.
“It was great to meet each of the pupils to present to them their awards, and to congratulate them on their eye-catching Christmas card designs.
“I would also like to thank everyone who took part.”
The prime minister, Rishi Sunak, met with the MP and posed for a photo with the card.
The winners are:
· Eva from Our Lady and St Patrick's Catholic Primary School.
· Maggie from Flimby Primary School.
· Michael from Oughterside Village in England.
· Daisy from Holm Cultram Abbey Church of England Primary School.
Copies of each card have been presented to, signed by and photographed with the PM and speaker, Lindsay Hoyle.
They have also been sent to every MP, local councillor, school and town and parish council, to residents, and businesses, Mr Jenkinson said.
