Several road closures are scheduled for Cumbria for the next few months due to gas network upgrades.
Northern Gas Network is upgrading the gas infrastructure underneath some of the main roads through Penrith.
The first phase will see Middlegate closed from today (January 3) to January 26.
There are warning signs from M6 J40 to Brunswick Road, and Cumbria Constabulary’s Eden team has reminded people that it is illegal to drive through the no entry signs on to Brunswick Square.
Phase two will see Devonshire Street closed from January 22 to February 5, and phase three will see King Street closed from February 5 to March 8.
