A BUTCHER'S shop has announced the 'heavy-hearted' decision to close after five years of service.
Chopping Block in Penrith's New Squares opened in June 2019 and steadily built a strong reputation for its dry-aged meat, friendly service, and sustainable focus.
In 2020, The Chopping Block of Penrith was named as Best New Butchery Business.
In a post on social media (January 11), the owner of the independent butchers, deli and cafe, Chris Clough, gave thanks to their 'loyal' customers for their support over the past five years.
"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the doors of the Chopping Block have opened for the last time," he wrote.
"We have given it our best shot over the last five years, but sadly things must come to an end.
"I wanted to say a huge thank you to all our loyal customers, for your support and friendship.
"A massive thank you to staff past and present, who without, I couldn’t have had such a fantastic five years!
"Times continue to be tough for many of us and, as a business owner, I am fully aware of how difficult it is.
"We’ve hurdled many obstacles along the way and have lots of success to look back on and be proud of.
"So, one last goodbye from me to you.
"I’m now looking forward to spending some quality time with my family," he said.
