GET ready for a blast from the past this summer as Carlisle Racecourse is set to be transformed into a 90s rave.

The open-air Save the Rave festival will be coming to the city on July 20 for a full day of nostalgic euphoria.

Festival-goers are being promised a 'huge' line-up which is yet to be announced, with DJ's undoubtedly touching on the 90s classics from the likes of Fatboy Slim, Ultra Nate, Faithless, Baby D, Livin’ Joy and The Chemical Brothers.

The event also promises 'jaw-dropping visuals' as well as a selection of food trucks and stalls.

Save the Rave is an all-day outdoor festival that tours the UK.

A spokesperson from Save the Rave said: "Remember when rhythm was a dancer and groove was in the heart?

"When tie-dye and centre partings were acceptable?

"It was when the Ibiza scene exploded. The decades biggest floor fillers includes tracks from Fatboy Slim, Ultra Nate, Faithless, Baby D, Livin’ Joy, The Chemical Brothers and tons more!

"We're excited to bring Save to Rave to Carlisle this summer," they said.

Early bird tickets, which are selling fast, are available for those keen to dust off their neon clothing for a price of £25.44 (including booking fee).

On July 21, the team behind Save a Rave will also be hosting the Look-A-Like Festival, touted as 'Carlisle's biggest outdoor tribute festival', an all-day, outdoor, family-friendly music festival featuring the UK's best tribute acts.
