A MUSIC event has celebrated a 'resoundingly successful' turnout and announced a star-studded gig to mark its second anniversary.

Brampton’s music venue, Live @ Union Lane, is 'revelling' in the wake of another successful event, which took place on Saturday, January 20 and featured Leeds-based duo, Martyn Ropwer and Jack Amblin's The Washboard Resonators who gave 1930s blues, ragtime, and jazz and modern twist.

This was the latest event at Live @ Union Lane which is the brainchild of local jazz aficionado and amateur promoter, David Gosling, and Brampton and Beyond Community Trust.

The idea was born out of a desire to rekindle the community's connection through live music in a relaxed setting.

In line with this pursuit, the upcoming second anniversary of Live @ Union Lane promises to be an affair to remember, with the highly acclaimed Espen Eriksen Trio from Norway who will be accompanied by one of Europe's most distinguished saxophonists, Andy Sheppard.

This anticipated musical interplay is scheduled for Friday, May 24 with doors opening at 7pm.

James Burke of Brampton and Beyond Community Trust said:  "Live @ Union Lane has blossomed incredibly since its inception, thanks to the collective efforts and dedication of our entire team.

"While the initial vision may have been sparked by myself and David, it is the unwavering commitment of the many individuals working behind the scenes that truly brings this venue to life.

"As we celebrate our achievements and look towards an exciting future, I want to express my profound gratitude to each team member whose hard work and passion make it all possible.

"Our success is a shared endeavour, and as we look forward to what the next year will bring, it's clear that the support of our patrons for these high-calibre acts goes hand-in-hand with ensuring our local Community Centre continues to thrive."
