THE former treasurer of a Bridge club has admitted fraud by making a gain of more than £22,000 for herself.
Charlotte Phillips, 39, dishonestly abused her position at Workington Bridge Club between January 2018 and August 2022, making a gain of £22,781.
The defendant, of Elterwater Avenue, Workington, admitted fraud by abuse of position when she appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Pamela Fee, prosecuting, said it was an ‘abuse of position of trust’ committed over a ‘sustained period of time’.
Ms Fee said the starting point for the offence was 18 months in prison and the case was not suitable for sentence in the magistrates’ court.
Phillips will be sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on February 26.
