A HUGELY popular airfield open day will be returning later this year.
The Kirkbride Airfield Open Day and Fly in, in association with Solway Light Aviation, will be returning 10 miles west of Carlisle on Sunday, May 26.
Last year, the event returned for the first time since the pandemic bringing with it their 'biggest crowd to date'.
More than 100 visiting aircraft came to the show from all over the UK last year, including a 1950s De Havilland jet fighter, a bullet-scarred, battle-used Vietnam War Huey helicopter and a WW2 Yak-3 fighter.
The event, which also featured WW2 reenactments, raised over £1,200 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Prior permission is required for those looking to bring aircraft to the event.
All aircraft will be subject to weather and serviceability on the day.
