A group of local poetry enthusiasts have donated £100 to charity.
Brampton Poets, who meet at Brampton's Community Centre on the first Thursday of every month, donated the money to Hospice at Home.
These funds were generated by the publishing of the group's fifth poetry anthology at the end of 2023, with the profits made from this book going directly to the local charity whose nursing team provides palliative care and support across the county.
This donation was also given a larger sentimental value to the Brampton Poets after a financial donation made the publication of their first anthology in 2019 possible.
A spokesperson for Hospice at Home said: " The kindness of the Poets following their 5th anthology publication will go towards much needed palliative care that Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland provide to people with a terminal diagnosis wanting to die at home surrounded by those they love, thank you."
