A bank which is set to close later this year has been put on the market.
Halifax confirmed that its branch on King Street in Whitehaven will close on April 9, 2024.
The three-storey 3,616 ft² end-terrace property with a banking hall, ancillary rooms, storage, and offices is currently being marketed by Walton Goodland.
£35,000 per annum is the expected rent, exclusive of Business Rates, VAT and other outgoings.
The property, standing in a mixed-use area at the retail shopping core of Whitehaven, was formerly classified under Use Class E, which included banks.
Prospective businesses seeking the property for alternative uses like retail, restaurants, cafe, office/professional services, and even medical/health and fitness facilities can expect support from local planning policies.
It is one of several banks to leave the town after NatWest departed in March this year and HSBC shut its doors in September 2022.
A similar picture is being painted across the county, with Penrith also losing two of its banks later this year.
Lloyds Bank on King Street will close come March as well as the town's Halifax branch in April.
