TWO colleagues and friends in Carlisle won big on a national game show televised last weekend.
Terri Lorimer, 33, and Jess Hartley, 23, who work as mortgage advisors at Cumberland Building Society, competed on Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win, a game show televised on ITV.
In the most recent episode, broadcast on Saturday, February 3, the duo won £20,000.
It wasn’t just the money that they were thankful for, however, as they both said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being on TV and meeting the famous presenting duo.
Filming took place in London in October last year, but it’s still fresh in the memories of Terri and Jess.
Jess said: “We applied on a whim and it was just a bit of fun, and then we had our auditions, it just kept going further and further, we felt like we were in a film.
“It was a proper money-couldn’t-buy experience.”
Terri’s winnings will be spend on the kids, as she said: “I’ve got two children (aged six and three), and we’re going to treat them to Disneyland in Paris.”
Jess said on how she is going to spend the money: “As many holidays as you can get for £10,000, tick off the list, there’s so much in the world to see – my parents might tell me to get moved out.”
It would seem their talents on TV came naturally, as the two managed to quip at Ant and Dec when they were asked to switch roles.
From the presenting area, they asked Ant and Dec the cumulative amount of inches when adding Dec’s height and Ant’s forehead length, in a scripted moment that came off as real.
The pair had to read off a teleprompter for the first time, which they said was a challenge.
Ant and Dec were quick to react, as Dec said: "There's no need for that".
Ant said: "I didn't write that, who wrote that?"
It was all fun and games though, and Jess said of the presenting pair: “They were just absolutely amazing, so nice, and they made us feel at home.”
Terri concluded: “Just having an experience like this, being on ITV on a Saturday night, we loved every second.”
Ant and Dec's Limitless Win continues Saturday, February 10, at 8.45pm on ITV1 and ITVX
