THE Cumbria Police Rural Crime Team has been responding to a spate of thefts.
The constabulary introduced a new initiative last year to tackle crime across the county.
Teams in the area are implementing these tactics to tackle various types of criminal activity.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "Last year saw the introduction of the 4Cs in Cumbria Police. Over the past few weeks, we have looked at how our team works in line with this mission.
"Contempt for criminality. We will relentlessly pursue those involved in rural crime.
"In response to a spate of thefts in the area, we've increased our patrols in North West Cumbria with targeted activity, alongside colleagues from Allerdale Police and Carlisle Police.
"Numerous vehicles have been stopped during these patrols, checks have been carried out on trailers on the move, searches have been carried out on people and vehicles, and drones were deployed to key locations.
"Behind the scenes, our team continues to work on investigations to identify suspects. We've also sent disruption notices and paid visits to keepers of vehicles reported in suspicious circumstances."
