AN 'incredible' Carlisle tattoo artist has celebrated her fifth anniversary at a local studio.

Libby Nixon was first taken on as an apprentice at Rosemary Lane's Get Modified on February 1, 2019 after being recommended to the tattoo and piercing studio by one of their former artists.

Since joining Get Modified, Libby has blossomed into a key part of the Carlisle business and owner Andrew Davenport was keen to congratulate his resident tattoo artist on reaching the milestone on Thursday, February 1.

"Tattooing aside, she’s always everyone's biggest cheerleader and so infectious with her energy. She’s always pushing us to try new things and has even convinced our other tattoo artists Kizzey and Phillippa to partake in Big North Tattoo Show with her this year, which is a first for our studio and we’re excited to see the outcome for them.

"Hopefully, we get to keep Libby for many more years to come."

Andrew also discussed the pleasure he has taken in watching Libby's art develop and hopes that she will continue to allow her passion for nature and fantasy to grow.

News and Star: He said: "During her five years with us Libby has really cultivated and grown her client base who love coming back to her for her unique blend of blackwork and illustration in her tattooing.

"She draws each and every design from scratch, working with her clients to help create a truly bespoke and unique piece of artwork for them.

"If you look at Libby’s work you’ll see she’s very heavily inspired by nature and fantasy which makes perfect sense as it’s a bit of a running joke in the studio that Libby is actually a forest imp who lives in the woods when she’s not in here tattooing!"
