Firefighters were deployed to extinguish a kitchen fire earlier this morning.
Penrith Fire Station was called at 5.22am this morning (February 6) and on arrival they found the kitchen to be heavily smoke-logged.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said the fire happened at a property on the C3019 Newbiggin.
"We committed four BA (breathing apparatus wearers) with an HRJ (hose reel jet) to extinguish the fire and prevent it spreading elsewhere in the property," a spokesperson from the station said.
They added: "Crews were on the scene for approximately an hour and a half."
