CARLISLE'S newest radio station will be adding radio veterans to its broadcasting team.
Two former BBC presenters will now bring their experience to the newly-established CRFM Radio.
Paul Braithwaite is expected to host a country show while Joe Costin will anchor Sunday morning's 'The Golden Sunday' programme from 11am.
CRFM Radio will be going live from Unit 43 at the Carlisle Enterprise Centre in a 'matter of weeks', under the frequency 102.7 FM.
The radio's director Lindsey Kerr, who launched Lakeland Radio in 2001 and has worked with CFM, the Bay and BBC Cumbria said: "In an initiative to find the next generation of broadcasters the station, which will be run entirely by volunteers, will be offering an open slot to new presenters on a Saturday morning.
"We're going to be offering an opportunity on a Saturday morning, between 11-12, called 'The Takeover'.
"We will be inviting, particularly young blood, to come to have a go and be on the air - that's something radio stations don't offer.
"We've said from the get-go that's something we would do. If any community groups would like to come take over the airwaves, let us know," Lindsey said.
