The Carlisle Civic Centre is holding a free event for property owners and letting agents to discuss the latest changes in housing law.

The event will take place on March 1, from 10.30am to 12pm.

Hosted by the National Residential Landlords Association, the event will update attendees on changes within the private rented sector in 2024.

Representatives from Cumbria Police, the Department of Work and Pensions, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, the Valuation Office Agency and the UK Visas and Immigration Service will be present.

Councillor Bob Kelly, Cumberland Council executive member for Policy and Regulatory Services, said: “We want to help private landlords and letting agents from across Cumberland to be well informed about legislative updates and changes within their sector, and ensure their tenancies are safe and legal."
