A bookshop in Carlisle is inviting artists to paint its outside window with a different theme each month to help showcase their work.
Bookends is a popular shop in the centre of the border city and this week it has adopted a new look, thanks to the work of local artist @somo_creation.
With Valentine's Day just a week away, this month's theme is unsurprisingly love, with the window now covered in hearts with a message that paraphrases The Beatles' classic song.
It reads: 'All you need is love (and books)'.
On Facebook, Bookends wrote: "We’re excited to be launching a new opportunity for other local artists interested in showcasing their work in our wonderful window."
In return for the design, artists will receive a space in the window to showcase their work, social media coverage and a £50 book voucher to spend in the shop.
The Castle Street location already has its themes set out until November, including Cumbria, Easter, LGBT Pride and Christmas.
Bookends have vowed to supply the materials and are inviting interested artists to email via bookscumbria@aol.com - with some words about yourself, a quick sketch of your idea for the design, and examples of your work.
