A Carlisle mother has vowed to boycott Iceland after receiving a shopping delivery which she says included smashed eggs, missing bread and 'mouldy' ice pops.
Shirrelle McCulloch, from Carlisle, was receiving her online delivery from the city's St Nicholas Gate retail park on February 4 when she claims she received half of someone else's order.
Ms McCulloch said the delivery came with a 'pack of damaged eggs, half a loaf of bread missing, and both ice pops and a crate of 24 cans of Vimto with what looked like 'mould'.
"The one thing that got me was the ice pops, one of them is filled with mould," she claimed.
"My youngest is two years old and is allergic to penicillin, if I hadn’t realised when I put them in the freezer, I would’ve given her that the next day.
“I only emptied the ice pops because my freezer was full, if they froze I probably wouldn’t have noticed."
Ms McCulloch said she went back to the shop demanding a refund for the state of her order but was told there was nothing they could do as everything was within its sell-by date.
“I won’t be shopping there again," she said.
Iceland has acknowledged the issue and stated that they are currently attempting to rectify the situation for Ms McCulloch.
A spokesperson from Iceland said: "We take customer satisfaction seriously and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
"We encourage the customer to contact us urgently via email or telephone, so we can resolve this issue as a matter of priority.
"We will offer a full refund and a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused," they said.
