A CARLISLE bride and groom entertained their guests with an outside wedding along with alpacas and lawn games before jetting off to Tenerife for their honeymoon.
Delivery driver David Middleton and Alex Kirkpatrick got married at Dalston Hall on August 10, the hottest day in August last year, which was perfect for their outside wedding ceremony.
Not only did they have their nearest and dearest there but also their dachshund Zola.
David met Alex, an admin assistant, when she was friends with his sister. A couple of years later, the pair reconnected on social media.
David knew Alex was the one and decided to pop the question in 2020.
Alex said: "The proposal was over our tea at home. It was very simple but it was very David and the next day he gave me an engagement ring."
Three years later, the pair married in front of 70 guests.
Recalling their big day, Alex said: "Our wedding theme was sky blue, which was perfect for the sunny day. I wore a beautiful ivory custom-made dress while David wore a dark suit at the altar.
"The whole day was amazing but my favourite moment was having my oldest son Callum walk me down the aisle to David."
At the ceremony afterwards, they had a champagne reception at 3pm with a meal later on. Their favours to the guests were scratch cards for adults and activity packs for children.
After the ceremony, which was a marquee at Dalston Hall, they welcomed 150 evening guests and also cut out two-tier blue cake with 50 cupcakes.
Their first dance was to 'Set You Free' by Sam Ryder, then they welcomed guests to the dance floor.
After the wedding, they went to Purta Del La Cruz in Tenerife for their honeymoon.
