In this edition of nostalgia, we will be looking back at pram races across Cumbria throughout the years.
One of the first pram race in Cumbria was initiated by a group of friends in the town of Brampton who organised it as a joke. The event, however, quickly gained popularity and turned into an annual community tradition.
Money raised from the race has traditionally gone to various local charities, making it not only a fun event but also a means of giving back to the community.
There was the spectacle aspect of the race - with many teams choosing to decorate their prams and dress up in a variety of unique and often comedic costumes.
Pram races raised in popularity and races took place in Carlisle, Warwick, Armathwaite, Wigton and Stainton.
