The Children’s Alliance charity is seeking water-related community projects to fund in Cumbria, after securing £60,000 in grants.
The charity aims to foster better starts and brighter futures for children.
Whether a small wild swimming group or a long-standing sports club, any project that involves water and swimming can apply for funding.
Founded by the late CEO of Water Babies, Steve Franks, in 2019, the charity has just achieved official charitable status.
So far, 477 children have benefitted from its initiatives, such as SEN swimming lessons, surfing sessions, specialised swimwear, and repairing sensory pool facilities.
The charity has worked with organisations like Leigh Trust, Dame Vera Lynn Charity, The Wave Project, Access Sport, and We Are Beams.
Funding could assist a community group, a school, a club, or a special needs organisation to enhance children's lives by promoting the benefits of water activities.
Paul Thompson, founder of Water Babies and chair of trustee’s at Children’s Alliance, said: "Children are at the heart of Water Babies, and Children’s Alliance formalises our charitable work and provides an action plan of how to give back to families and communities, helping to provide better starts and brighter futures for children."
