DISRUPTION on the train line between Carlisle and Garsdale/Haltwhistle is expected.
This is expected to last until 8pm, Monday, February 12.
The routes affected are between Carlisle and Leeds and Morpeth.
A spokesperson said: "A fault with the signalling system at Carlisle means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Carlisle and Garsdale / Haltwhistle may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, or revised.
"Disruption is expected to continue until 8pm.
"Customers travelling between Skipton and Carlisle are advised to travel to Leeds and get on an alternative Northern service via Preston to Carlisle.
"You can use your ticket on Avanti West Coast services between Carlisle and Preston / Lancaster, at no extra cost.
"You can also use alternative Northern services between Preston / Lancaster and Leeds, at no extra cost."
The following routes are affected:
Carlisle - Newcastle are currently unable to run between Carlisle - Newcastle, in both directions.
Carlisle - Leeds services are unaffected by this issue.
Services between Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness are unaffected by this issue.
