A LOCAL theatre school enjoyed an 'exceptional' evening honouring some of their extraordinary students last weekend.
The recent Razzamataz Theatre School Carlisle annual awards ceremony, held on Saturday February 10 at The Halston Hotel, united the entire "razz family" to honour the accomplishments of their talented students.
With over 500 proud parents and family members in attendance, alongside approximately 220 students, the celebration was one to remember.
Throughout the day, all students had an opportunity to showcase their hard work and dedication through heart-warming performances. Parents were granted a glimpse into the skills and progress their children had made in their classes. Each student was also presented with a certificate acknowledging their achievements in the performing arts.
The event also featured stunning solo performances by graduating seniors Ella Ashurst and Rosie Hogg, who will be embarking on their performing arts careers at university next year.
Additionally, a group of students, fresh from their experience in the West End, delivered a high-energy tribute to "Matilda."
These talented individuals had previously debuted this performance at The Shaftesbury Theatre in December 2023.
Among the prestigious awards presented, the newly crowned Student of The Year title was awarded to Amelia Deans, recognising her outstanding contributions and dedication. Similarly, the Performer of The Year accolade was bestowed upon Dylan Rhodes, affirming his exceptional talent and commitment to his craft.
Furthermore, Razzamataz created an award in honour of Angus McCall, a beloved member of the Razzamataz Carlisle community who possessed 'a special spirit'.
Named after him, this award acknowledges a student who embodies the essence of Razzamataz, characterised by passion, energy, heart, soul, humour, and warmth.
This distinguished award was presented to Rosie Hogg, exemplifying her 'remarkable qualities and significant impact on the Razzamataz family'.
Razzamataz said: "The Razzamataz Theatre School Carlisle annual awards ceremony was undoubtedly a day filled with joy, celebration, and recognition. As the "razz family" continues to grow and flourish, these talented performers are destined for a bright future in the performing arts.
"Congratulations to all the deserving award winners and the exceptional students who made this event truly extraordinary."
