CARLISLE's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• M6, from 8pm January 13 to 8pm August 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to 44, Lane three closures with narrow lane two to replace VRS.
And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A69, from 9am to 4pm on February 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 eastbound, Warwick Bridge next to Little Corby Road, junction - traffic signals for Utility works.
• A69, from 7pm February 13 to 6am February 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 both directions - Warwick Bridge near, junction with Little Corby Road - Multi way lights to carry out Utility works.
• A69, from 9am February 19 to 4pm February 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 westbound, Low Row - traffic signals to carry out Bus Stop improvement works.
• A69, from 7pm February 19 to 6am February 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69, Greenhead, barrier replacement works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
