A SHOPLIFTER has been banned from entering stores in two towns under an interim court order following a number of recent thefts.
Mark Timney, of Main Street, Egremont admitted five charges of theft from a shop when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court last week.
The 53-year-old stole various items from Superdrug in Workington on November 15 and December 10. He then stole groceries from Heron Foods in Whitehaven on January 20 and February 3.
The case was adjourned to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.
Timney will be sentenced on February 28. In the meantime, he must not enter any shop that is part of the Shopwatch scheme in Whitehaven or Workington.
