A ROAD in Carlisle will be closed in the evenings for over a week in order to conduct necessary roadworks.
Cumberland Council has announced highway improvement works on Botchergate between Close Street and Portland Place.
The resurfacing work aims to enhance the road's durability and quality, while renewing line markings and replacing ironwork for smoother future maintenance.
These works, which are expected to span nine nights, are scheduled to begin on Thursday, February 22 and continue until Tuesday, March 5, excluding weekends.
The works will be carried out between 6pm and 1am, weather permitting.
To ensure safety, Botchergate will face evening closures, with a full diversion route available.
The council has timed these works to lessen disturbances, considering the ongoing closure of Devonshire Street for the Carlisle Place Project.
If businesses or residents require property access, they should discuss their needs with the on-site traffic marshal.
However, be advised there may be property access delays.
Access for emergency services will be maintained during the works.
Cumberland Council wishes to "thank the community for their continued support and patience while they improve your road network" and apologises for any inconvenience.
