A MILLOM man is facing a Carlisle Crown Court trial after he entered not guilty pleas to three sexual allegations, including one count of rape.
Ryan Evans, 24, of Wasdale Road, Millom, denies the rape and has also pleaded not guilty to two allegations of sexual assault against the same alleged victim.
During a short hearing, the defendant spoke only to confirm his personal details and to enter his not guilty pleas to each of the three allegations.
All three charges relate to alleged events in 2020. Judge Nicholas Barker ruled that the trial should get underway on December 16. It is expected to last for three days.
The remainder of the hearing focused on the judge setting out a timetable for the various legal obligations of the prosecution, the defence and the defendant.
The defendant was granted bail until his next court appearance.
