THE Lanes Shopping Centre has announced a new partnership with Carlisle Foodbank.
As part of the partnership, The Lanes will now house two brand new drop-off points, which are located on Level One of its Lowther Street Car Park and between Pandora and The Fragrance Shop, where locals can donate goods to the food bank.
Susan Young, centre manager at The Lanes, commenting on the partnership said: "Building on the success of our Christmas Donation from our generous retailers, we are delighted to enter this partnership with Carlisle Foodbank which works tirelessly to support people in crisis.
"Given The Lanes' position in the heart of the community, we are uniquely placed to help the Foodbank, raise awareness, and support those in need in Carlisle.
"The partnership will also present our own staff with opportunities to volunteer and provide practical help, bringing us even closer to the community we serve."
Stephanie Humes, at Carlisle Foodbank, added: "We all have the most basic survival needs, food and drink, clothing, and somewhere to live safely and we aim to make a difference for people in our community.
We are thrilled to have The Lanes Shopping Centre as our partner as we have continued to see a real need in the community for food bank use in the last year, with more and more people struggling to afford the basics.
"We always welcome donations at the foodbank if you are looking to donate and if you are seeking our help, you will always be made to feel welcome."
