STAFF at a Carlisle company are raising money for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.
Four members of staff from Komatsu Forest Ltd will be raising funds for local causes through a charity event.
On May 12, 2024, a team of four from Komatsu Forest Ltd is participating in Bikes Boats Boots 2024, for the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, one which the group explains they are proud to support.
The race involves three separate activities. A cycle of 30 miles, cycling through the shores of Ullswater and the Lake District Peaks. Canoeing a two-mile route on Ullswater. And a trek to the summit of the third highest peak in England, the magnificent Helvellyn.
A spokesperson said: "Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit Eden Valley Hospice and Carlisle Ltd, and any donation will help make an impact.
"Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
The group is attempting to raise £3,000 for the charity and so far has raised over £700.
Eden Valley Hospice provides care for adults with life-limiting illnesses from North Cumbria.
The Adult In-Patient Unit has 10 beds in single en-suite rooms. The 'home-from-home environment creates a relaxing atmosphere for patients and families with each room overlooking the beautiful walled garden.'
The Day Services provide care for up to 15 people a day, four days a week.
Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice provides day-to-day care, support, and activities to children and young people from across the county living with a life-limiting illness. The care is provided in a home-from-home setting and each young person’s care is personalised towards their own needs.
An Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw spokesperson continued: "More information about Eden Valley Hospice, Carlisle Ltd: Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice provide palliative care for people with incurable or life-limiting illnesses, enabling them and their carers to live life as fully and as independently as possible.
"We will deliver services with a common focus, working collaboratively across Cumbria and South West Scotland."
