A school has said that it is 'really proud' after receiving a financial education award.
Brampton Primary School was recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Financial Education due to its efforts during Money Week which was held during the summer term.
In addition to this, the school's ongoing learning about finances in its mathematics and PSHE lessons was also recognised as part of the accreditation.
After securing the award, the primary school was sent a glass trophy to commemorate the recognition, with this trophy being accepted by teacher Katy Walker and some of the school's Year 3 students.
Speaking after the school was presented with the award and the accreditation, head teacher Chris Armstrong expressed his delight.
He said: "We are really proud to receive the 'The Centre of Excellence Award in Financial Education'. We really value the foundations that our work on Financial Education set for our children.
"It is always so enlightening to hold discussions with them about what they value and where money comes from. It really helps us to help them.
"Mrs Walker, our Maths and Financial Education leader, and the team have collated some excellent evidence from the children’s activities and the award is a great testament to everyone’s hard work in school."
