Generous Penrith retirees have raised £1,500 for local charity, Blood Bikes Cumbria.
Residents of Churchill Retirement Living’s Dutton Lodge development, fundraised diligently during a 'Winter Warmer' event and preceding activities initiated before Christmas.
The recent Winter Warmer event offered visitors respite from chilly conditions, with an invite to the development's cosy Owners' Lounge for coffee, cake, and convivial conversations in return for small charity donations.
Blood Bikes Cumbria representatives attended to discuss the critical emergency medical courier services they deliver to local hospitals.
A lucky few attendees even had the opportunity to enjoy a thrilling ride on a Blood Bikes motorcycle.
Lisa Obertelli, area sales manager for Churchill Retirement Living, said: "We’re delighted by the success of our Winter Warmer event and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped us raise such a fantastic total in support of Blood Bikes since December.
"It’s a perfect example of the community spirit on offer here at Dutton Lodge, and how we enjoy the opportunity to give something back to the local community."
The Winter Warmer events, hosted at Churchill’s retirement establishments nationwide in February, collected funds for local causes, carefully chosen by its apartment owners and colleagues.
