A TikTok content creator from Carlisle is gearing up to embark on a 130-mile solo charity walk from Gateshead's Millennium Bridge to the Millennium Bridge in Manchester.

Michael Wise is no stranger to fundraising for charity, having already completed a 75 mile journey trek from Carlisle to Newcastle for MIND.

A few months later, this was followed up by a charity skydive for Every Life Matters.

“I wanted to do another walk,” Mike said.

“I was originally going to go from Carlisle Castle to Edinburgh Castle but I thought it would be nice to start where I finished last year.

“I’ve been out walking every day and swimming getting ready for it,” he said.

In last year’s trek, Michael raised £2,400 for MIND.

He hopes for a similar figure this year and having already raised almost £1,200, it looks like he is well on his way.

All funds raised from the aptly named 'Bridge to Bridge 130' will directly go towards Young Minds, a mental charity for children and young people.

“I went through my own struggles with mental health a few years ago and I’ve come out of the other side.

“When I do a lot of my live streaming, a lot of people message me saying I’ve helped them. So, it’s basically to show people you can do anything in the right frame of mind.

“I’m hoping it inspires people,” he said.

Followers can track Michael’s journey, which he will be livestreaming on his TikTok Account @APMlive when he sets off on Saturday, March 23.

The trek is anticipated to take 7 days, with his accommodation varying between wild camping and hotel stays.

As a part of the event, Michael has been sponsored by Mountain Warehouse who has generously provided all the necessary gear for his journey.
