AS Valentine's Day was celebrated at a Carlisle care home, a centenarian with a heart full of wisdom shared her timeless relationship advice.
Flowers, sweets and joy spread throughout Lanercost House Care Home on February 14.
The staff and residents got into the spirit of the occasion, enjoying a heart-themed afternoon tea in the home's bistro serenaded by love songs.
Audrey, who is 100 years old, said her relationship advice to anyone going forward is "to love truly".
The team, at Newtown Road, created a Valentine’s selfie frame, with residents enjoying taking photos of each other with their friends, family and staff.
Activities co-ordinator, Emily Stubbs said: “We’ve all had a lovely day decorating the home and spending time together.
"So much love, laughter and joy was shared, as well as fond memories created," she said.
Similar to this event, Lanercost House, run by Barchester Healthcare, looks to offer a wide array of daily activities tailored to residents' needs and interests, with hopes of fostering a loving community every day of the year.
Earlier this year, the care home was praised for operating a safe and well-led service by the Care Quality Commission.
The report stated that residents at the home received good quality person-centred care and were supported by kind, caring, respectful staff.
It had upheld its 'Good' rating from 2018.
