A family run antiques and furniture business has confirmed that it will be trading from a new premises from this weekend.
Black Swan Vintage Interiors owner Steven Swan has agreed to work alongside fellow antiques trader Andrew Scott, the owner of Spotty Dawgs, in a previously under-used space in his shop in Longtown.
On Saturday, March 2, when Spotty Dawgs will re-open after a two-month break, Black Swan Vintage Interiors will also open to the public for the first time, having previously been run as an appointment-only business.
In an interview with the News & Star, Steven said:
"Black Swan Vintage Interiors is a small family run antiques and furniture business that opened in 2021.
"After a long interest in the industry we felt the time and circumstances were right to start trading.
"Having known and dealt with Spotty Dawg for a few years and a change to my circumstances we discussed the possibility of utilising some previously little used space within the shop. Having been appointment only based in the past this will give the opportunity of more flexible times for customers to view items they may see online and also have footfall of visiting customers which wasn’t possible for us in the past.
"We are very excited for the reopening and to be within a long running, successful and very popular shop. We have a array of traditional antique furniture with a mixture of ceramics, pictures, mirrors, lighting an collectibles including breweriana."
On Facebook, Steven added: "We have worked together a lot in the past and I think this is a great step for us and look forward to working together in the future. Spotty Dawg always has a fantastic array of stock available and is always worth a visit. With ever changing and varied stock there is always something new and interesting to catch your eye.
"Our stock will be available, plus after an extended French buying trip, the shop will have a fabulous array of fresh to the English market items. Thanks for your continued support."
The shop will open at 10am on Saturday.
