WOMEN are being invited to attend an open mic night on International Women's Day, March 8.
The night aims to celebrate and elevate the voices and talents of local women and those originating from around the globe now living in Carlisle.
This event by Carlisle International Women’s Group, part of the Carlisle One World Centre, will take place at the Carlisle Vineyard Church from 7-9pm, with doors opening at 6.30pm.
This in-person event is seen as the eagerly awaited sequel to the online open mic event the group hosted back in March 2021 amidst the pandemic.
An event organiser said: "All women are welcome to come along to share a fun evening with friends, to perform or to be entertained.
"We will have mouthwatering mocktails and light refreshments on offer.
"We will also have a raffle with some fab prizes and a donations pot to help cover costs of the evening and fund future events," they said.
The night invites women and non-male-identifying individuals to perform their choice of poetry, song, spoken word, comedy, and more in a safe, supportive setting.
The tickets are free but the organisers recommend reservation due to limited spaces.
Those interested in performing are encouraged to reach out to Tina Borgia at the email address: internationalwomensgroupca@gmail.com.
