THIS week the nation has mourned the death of a popular chef and television personality.
Dave Myers, one half of the Hairy Bikers, duo sadly passed away on February 28, 2024 at 66 years old.
The iconic chef first shared to the public that he had cancer back in May 2022 on the Hairy Bikers 'Agony Uncles' podcast, leading him to undergo chemotherapy.
Co-star Si King announced the news of his death, who said that he 'died peacefully' with his close friends and family by his side.
After meeting in 1995, the pair started their first cookery show back in 2004 called the Hairy Bikers Cookbook.
In the three decades that they knew each other Dave Myers and Si King published over 25 cookbooks.
Their most recent show, Hairy Bikers Go West, is one that co-star Si King says he will never forget.
Myers is also fondly remembered for his appearance on the hit BBC One talent show, Strictly Come Dancing.
Many people in the area know him as a fellow Cumbrian with him originating from Barrow in Furness.
Over the years Dave was actively involved in the community, as these photos show.
We hope that you will enjoy this tribute to a great Cumbrian talent who has appeared on our TV screens for two decades.
We can see a photo of Dave making an appearance at a primary school in Barrow, him taking part in a degree awards ceremony at Carlisle Cathedral, and him attending a hospice gala fundraiser at Holker Hall.
We can also see the Hairy Bikers at the Kings Head in Carlisle, the pair at a fundraiser and Dave appearing at an event in Newton.
