A TEENAGE trampolinist has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Championships.
Emily Trotter, a 15-year-old and longstanding member of Carlisle Trampoline Club, has been attending trampoline classes at Yewdale Community Centre since the age of five.
After competing in three qualifying matches this year, she will embark to Portugal in April to proudly represent the country in the junior team on an international sports stage.
A spokesperson from the Carlisle Trampoline Club praised Emily's dedication and drive.
"At the club, we are all so proud of the hard work and dedication Emily puts into her training and her drive to achieve her dreams.
"It is a pleasure to watch Emily grow as a gymnast and person and helping her along her trampoline journey.
"Emily says she knows she will have to work hard to ensure she can put out strong routines but feels this is something she is able to do.
"Emily is also excited that not only does she get the chance to compete as an individual to help the team score but has been given the opportunity to compete in the synchro event with her partner," they said.
Emily achieved competing at the top level at the age of nine and has gone from strength to strength under her coach Kim Trotter, winning many podium positions along the way.
Last year, she became the 15-16 female British age group champion in the 15-16 female trampoline event at the English Championships and at the National Age Group Championships.
"Once it was announced I felt relief, honoured, and excited to be getting the chance to represent Great Britain as part of the European team," Emily said.
