AN historic pub in Armathwaite is on the market for more than £500,000 after the licensee has decided ‘take on a new challenge’.
The Dukes Head Inn has been listed for £550,000 but current licensee, Tom Coward, has said that until a buyer is found it is ‘business as usual’ and the pub won’t close its doors.
“We have listed the pub as we feel it’s time to take on a new challenge,” said Tom.
“We have really enjoyed the last four years in Armathwaite and stress that until a buyer is found, it’s business as usual.
“The Dukes is a great business and in 'turnkey condition' for anyone wanting to take on a pub in the area.

The property, which dates back to circa 1850, is a two-storey building which with black and white painted elevations under a pitched slate roof.

The sale of the building includes all of the trade areas, including the bar area and restaurant, owner’s accommodation, cellar and kitchen.
It also includes the letting accommodation at the pub which comprises of six double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
The beer garden and the 20 vehicle car park is also for sale.
