DUE to the loss of a colleague, Cumberland Council will not be collecting garden waste in Carlisle on Monday, March 4.
This will allow for staff to attend the funeral and pay their respects.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: "Regrettably, due to the unfortunate loss of a valued colleague, there will be a temporary adjustment to your waste collection schedule, for Carlisle residents, on Monday, March 4.
"We will not be able to pick up garden waste on Monday (4 March), as our team will be attending the funeral to pay their respects.
"To accommodate this, we kindly ask for your cooperation in having all general waste and recycling containers ready for collection by 7 am on Monday, March 4.
"Our team will be working from 7am to 11am to ensure we collect as much as possible during this period.
"Rest assured, any garden waste and items not collected on Monday will be addressed throughout the week, and we aim to be fully up to date by the end of Friday, March 8.
"We appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time."
