A DELI in Carlisle will close for good this week.
First We Eat, on Fisher Street, has held a closing down sale, selling the last of its artisanal wares at a discount.
The deli was set up last year in April to sell regional and international artisan goods such as charcuterie, cheeses, smoked salmon, pasta, baked goods, oils, vinegar, speciality chocolates, olives, flour, and sandwiches.
Cheeses by Appleby Creamery, seafood from Grant's Seafood in Maryport, and cured meats from the Eden Valley Smokehouse in Penrith were featured, as the owners aimed to source their goods locally where possible, but also imported some premium goods they were unable to.
A spokesperson from the shop said that it will close by the end of the week, either Friday (March 8) or Saturday (March 9).
