Over 93 per cent of pupils in the Cumberland Council area have secured places at their first-choice secondary school this year.
The council reported an astonishing success rate, with 2651 out of 2836 applicants receiving offers from their preferred institution.
Beyond that, upwards of 99 per cent of families secured an offer at one of their top three preferred schools.
Cllr Elaine Lynch, Cumberland Council’s executive member for lifelong learning and development, said: "It is wonderful that nearly all students have been accepted into their first-choice school.
"A huge thanks goes to our schools for their support and all those who have helped to ensure we received as many on time applications as possible.
"I send my best wishes to all those moving to secondary school in September as they take the next important step in their education."
Cumberland Council, being comparatively new, oversaw the phased admissions process for the first time this year.
A limited number of students who haven't been accepted into their first-choice are currently receiving information about launching appeals.
They are encouraged to reach out to the school admissions team for further assistance.
