FOR those who crave the excitement of a night out but dread the inevitable Sunday morning slog, a new event promises to deliver all the fun of clubbing with a daytime twist.
Early Doors Day Clubbing is set to take place on Saturday, May 25, at Carlisle's Old Fire Station, offering a unique experience aimed at the over-30s crowd.
Attendees can dance the afternoon away from 2 pm to 8 pm to the sounds of classic hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, courtesy of a live band and DJs, making it a perfect opportunity for those who want to be home and tucked up in bed come 9 pm.
Will Morgan, managing director of the Old Fire Station, said the idea came after regulars got in touch to share the success of Line of Duty star Vicky McClure's daytime disco events in Yorkshire.
"People were saying they'd love to see it here in Carlisle, so we thought we'd give it a go.
“We put the post out on social media and it went berserk.
"Every comment has been really positive, one of the first comments was ‘this is the best idea I’ve heard in my life’, so people seem to be up for it," he said.
Tickets for the event are priced at £10 and after being announced on Friday, the venue has already sold out half of its tickets.
“What we try to do at the Old Fire Station is bring big city ideas here, if you see concepts working in big cities like Manchester, you think why can’t it work here?
"If it proves as popular as it’s looking like, we’ll put more on the future," Will said.
Tickets for the event can be found on the Old Fire Station website.
