The Oscars was held last weekend with a number of huge films and actors honoured at the awards ceremony in LA.
The annual awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 10, with Oppenheimer the big winner.
Cillian Murphy took home best actor for his role as J. Robert Oppenheimer in the Christopher Nolan epic, while Emma Stone won her second best actress award for her starring role in Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things.
Robert Downey Jr won best supporting actor for Oppenheimer, and Christopher Nolan claimed best director, as the film based on the creation of the atomic bomb also claimed best original score, film editing and cinematography.
Other winners included The Boy and The Heron as best animated feature, Da'Vine Joy Randolph as best supporting actress in The Holdovers and Anatomy of a Fall as best original screenplay.
Godzilla Minus One, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and War is Over!, were also honoured for best visual effects, best live action short film and best animated short film respectively.
For those who want to enjoy these Oscar-winning films with the full cinema experience, here is a list of where you can watch them in Cumbria in the next week.
- Oppenheimer will be shown at Alhambra Cinema in Penrith on Wednesday March 13 at 7pm. Keswick's Alhambra Cinema will also show the epic three-hour film at 1.30pm on Friday March 15 and 3.30pm on Monday March 18.
- Poor Things is only available at the Royalty Cinema in Bowness-on-Windermere on Wednesday March 13 at 5pm. However, it is now on Disney Plus for those that have a subscription.
- Comedy/drama film The Holdovers is available at Keswick's Alhambra Cinema on Saturday March 16 and Tuesday March 19 at 7.30pm and 5pm respectively. It is also available daily at Zefrellis in Ambleside.
- Best international feature film The Zone of Interest is available daily at 8pm at Keswick's Alhambra Cinema and will be on at Vue Cinema Carlisle at 2.45pm and 5.50pm on Wednesday, as well as 4.30 pm on Thursday March 14.
Others are available via streaming services.
